What was the highlight of Maikhao Palm Beach Resort

It was nice, could have been better.

Loved the spacious rooms and private pool access. Nan at the restaurant was simply awesome and her service and attention to detail was amazing. We loved this quiet part of Phuket as we just wanted to rest for a few days before the craziness of Krabi and Patong.

In extremely hot and humid conditions both our rooms’ AC did not work. We requested repair daily and on the last night our children were moved to a different room where the AC worked 100%. We ended up sharing their room as ours was unbearable. Cleaning could be done better as we saw dirt in our room from when we came to the day we checked out.

Pools sunbeds everything is old nobody doesn’t do anything for service on the pool. Building itself is old, location is just if you want to be close to airport. Price is much higher than it should be for such level of the hotel though room was really good

Peace and comfort

We stayed for 5 nights with the family. Pleasant stay and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect if you want to be out of the hustle of Phuket.

Breakfast was good but they can improve the options for gluten free like me. Some more light in the bathroom would be great.

The biggest swimming pool we have ever used! Rooms were very big, lovely.

Overrated but has potential

The pool complex is the jewel in the crown in this property. We were a larger family group so we had one room with pool access and one family room. The pool access room beat out the family room without even trying. Just better layout and ambiance and POOL. For the most part it was easy to coordinate with the front desk. A little remote but tuktuk accessible to a 7/11 along other small shops

The family room was blah - literally nothing to offer. There were days where I don’t think housekeeping touched our bathroom. The children’s pool area was lovely but in desperate need of upkeep - sections were rusted, paint peeling, plastic faded. We had massages in the spa and the masseuse left at various intervals to take calls or attend other customers, which contributed to a less relaxing massage.

Enjoyable, fun stay. The beach is sandy, wavy, beautiful.

Some rooms are located very far from the entrance, lobby and restaurant. The lobby and restaurant, of course, cannot be relocated or broken. However, I feel they can make more than one entrance/exit so that guests at rooms far from the main entrance can use alternate entrance/exit to easily get out of/get into the property. They have a few golf carts to help move guests, but probably inadequate in number.

Awesome

The swimming pool is nice and large. The room is clean and big.

The distance between the lobby and the room is too far to walk, so we need to wait for the staffs to drive the golf-car to pick us up all the time.

Very good location and room. Perfect service, very clean.

Breakfast, swimming pool and the beach are below average because of COVID-19. Abandoned hotel near by makes the location quite ugly.

Swimming pool fabulous and the sea view pool fantastic view . No shops just to pop to , is the only down fall, beach so quiet .

Beach opposite very clean beautiful sand again not overcrowded. Great.

Fantastic for comfy bed, shower, balcony, sea view, pools and sun beds, breakfast and no overcrowding anywhere. Overall fantastic.

Meals were mixed, some average some excellent. Higher than average prices but worth it for the lack of crowds. Live music particularly poor.

Nice hotel away from civilization

The hotel pool is amazing, they got a small fitness center and table tennis. Nice morning walk around the building as its huge and surrounded. The beach is around 50 meters away, secluded.

A bit far away from anything. Closest 7/11 is 20 min walk away. Massage a bit expensive

Nice rooms, great lobby and restaurant design

We’ve couple nights before flight back home, very nice hotel with gorgeous beds and furniture, everything like old Thai styled. You should try local restaurant for dinner : live music and one of the best pad Thai in Phuket. Personal on reception are very friendly and helpful. Pools are big and clean

My room was quite dirty, there are no sun beds or umbrellas at the beach - definitely you need it. Hotel located in the middle of nowhere so I advise to rent a car or bike if you need to see an island. Famous Beach with airplanes is nearby strong recommend.
